Job Summary:
The successful candidate will join a team focused on the functional characterization and early preclinical development of Abpro’s lead T cell-engaging bispecific antibody drug candidates. The position requires decisive problem solving, critical thinking, and presentation skills (both written and oral). The role will involve extensive collaboration with diverse internal and external teams and requires effective communication and a willingness for cooperation. The actual job title will depend on previous experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Cooperate with internal and external teams to move lead drug candidates from discovery to Investigational New Drug application filings.
- Design and execute in vitro T cell phenotypic and functional studies (surface phenotype, proliferation, cellular cytotoxicity, cytokine production, etc.) using human and non-human-derived primary cells and cell lines
- Perform data analyses using common data analysis and statistical applications (e.g. Excel, Prism, FlowJo)
- Record experimental goals, protocols, data, and analyses in an electronic lab notebook in a timely manner.
- Create narrative study reports for external partners and inclusion in regulatory filings.
Requirements:
- PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, or similar field
- 0-5 years post-PhD experience (academia or industry)
- Proficiency in in vitro assays to analyze T cell function, such as flow cytometry, ELISA, and flow cytometry as well as the desire to expand technical proficiencies.
- Adept at aseptic cell culture technique
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and desire to work within a team and with diverse other teams, both internally and externally
- Ability to present effectively to teams outside of one’s area of expertise
Preferred requirements:
- Experience working in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries, preferably in the discovery or development of immuno-oncology therapeutics
- Experience with small animal models relevant to immuno-oncology therapeutic development, including tumor xenografts using immune-deficient mouse models with a reconstituted human immune system.
- Experience with ex vivo phenotypic and functional analyses of peripheral and tumor-infiltrating immune cell populations
- Experience working with and managing outsourced studies at contract research organizations
- Must have authorization to work in the United States at time of application
- Must be able to work in the Woburn MA area at the time of application
